It’s Alive..

Well, no, not really Alive but… Ask anyone whose worked on their own personal site, and it’s as if the design takes on a life of it’s own and becomes part of you. It represents more than just a garbled bunch of code, but rather, an extension of yourself; a web-based physical embodiment of one’s self. Corny perhaps, but really, these types of designs do indeed take on a life of their own. As such, unleashing the design into the wild web-abyss is a nail-biting experience, done with a bit of trepidation as to the response it might receive.

Melodramatics aside. This current theme was conceived in all of five minutes using design elements from the previous theme and mocked up accordingly in Photoshop. Following the short bit of mock-up, the HTML & CSS building process took hold. After numerous iterations, and multiple versions, I’ve loosely settled upon this current version of code. I’m not exactly happy with the way the HTML looks underneath, but for dynamically generated code, it’s sufficient. It works, and it’s valid. This domain is hosted on the Downtown Host network and runs Expression Engine."

I believe this layout gives a better representation of “me“ more so than any previous version. As anyone who may know me can attest to, I’m not one for pastel colours and I greatly prefer the subtle over the ostentatious.
