About Me
Name:
Eric Limegrover Aldahonda
Birth date:
September 7, 1975
City of Birth:
Hollywood, Florida
Parents:
Paulette Limegrover and William Aldahonda
Marital Status:
Engaged MARRIED “(10.08.2005) to the best, most wonderful girl in the world. I have found my soul-mate, and to whatever god may be, I thank thee.
Who am I?
Astrologically, I’m a Virgo:
“Virgo likes to attack back when confronted. Virgos need to receive a lot attention, adoration and gratitude. Virgos are accurate, competent and effective. They like rationality. Virgos like to help and solve problems quickly. They do not do it for compliments. Virgos are not wasteful. Being perfectionists, they like order and cleanness in their home. Virgos change friends often. They have only a few real friends because they give very special values to friendship to which other people cannot commit. Virgo is ruled by Mercury. “
Yes, I am perfectionist, most of the time. There are moments where I will drive my self to insanity simply because a pixel is out of alignment, yet there are times when I just don’t care. I’m a perfectionist that can be realistic; I know it can’t always be perfect, but what’s wrong with trying?
I’m someone with whom friendship has traditionally been difficult as I am quite reserved and often prefer to just observe, very rarely letting people get close to me. Those that know me however, are aware that I can be quite unusual and just ripe with extravagant silliness. So different am I around people with whom I’m comfortable, that if they were to explain my real personality to anyone else, they would be labeled a liar and greeted with disbelief. As my Fiancee’ can attest, I am an oddball.
I am a study in contradictions.
Now umm, looking at desk about that cleanliness thing. We’ll get back to that, Mmmkay?
Education:
I’m an older college student that often wishes that I had been more disciplined after high-school so that I wouldn’t be 29 and in my second year of school. Still, I don’t believe I was truly ready to start college at that time and it’s better that things worked out the way they did. Honestly, I was far from being mature enough to handle it. My social skills were abysmal, responsibility nonexistant; I needed to mature further as a person. Unfortunately, it took about two years of on-again/off-again school and five years absence to do so. I’m a better person now for it, but I still wish I had done things differently.
Occupation
I’m currently working for an academic research institution as the staff assistant for a group of superb people. It’s often times challenging enough to keep me intellectually stimulated, yet flexible enough that I can remain a full time college student. This July, I’ll have been employed by this organization longer than I have any past job.
My employment history is quite varied as I had a knack for picking companies that were teetering on bankruptcy and being laid off became common for me. Lesson learned? Stay away from dot-com’s and executives that think nothing of wasting venture capital on extravagant parties.
Pleasures:
“Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.” – Maya Angelou
I have an ongoing love affair with music. It is my ultimate joy; one which I would sooner die than to part forever with. It is my sanctuary and ultimate joy. I enjoy playing it; listening and feeling the notes reverberate through my body. My eclectic tastes range from a variety of classical periods, such as baroque pieces like Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto’s, to the wonderfully dark Mozart’s Requiem, to the hopelessly romantic Pachelbel’s Canon. I enjoy Opera; Faust, The Magic Flute, Euryanthe, Der Troubadour, La Boheme, Lucio Silla to name a random few.
My tastes then take a swing to modern music genre’s such as Goth, Industrial, Synthpop, Darkwave, classic Rock, and a random assortment of eighties hair-bands. A short sampling of some of my musical tastes can be had here#. I have TRIED to shorten this list. It just wasn’t possible. Too many great bands, groups, composers, persons to not list. This list will most probably, continually grow. I kept it to what I listen to the most.
I am a geek. I love technology, I love the strange, the odd, the science fiction, those outdoor coffee cafes, wearing black, wearing dark sunglasses inside and pretending that I am some Half-Orc Witch-hunter attempting to level up so that I can gain that greater agility.
MUDS, RPGS, FPS, Flight Simulators, combat robots, computers, toys, gadgets, whatchamacallits, stuff that beeps, stuff that shines, stuff that does nothing more than look cool. It’s all groovy.
Hates
My now, thankfully, dead father. Take note abusive husbands and fathers of the world, Kharma has a way of getting you back. With my father, it did and it’s a shame I don’t know where he rests. Perhaps if I did, I might dance upon his grave. note: Still, two years after writing this statement, I feel that perhaps I haven’t expressed fully, my hatred for this man.
